Quick Breads, Muffins and Scones
No yeast?  Don't worry, you can make bread without yeast.
Try one of our sweet or savory quick bread recipes.
Quick breads are breads that are leavened with baking powder and baking soda instead of yeast, so they don’t have the same texture as yeast breads. Most quick breads have a cake-like texture. They can be sliced and toasted but you can't really use them to make a sandwich. Quick breads include muffins, biscuits, scones, cornbread, and quick loaf breads that may be either sweet or savory.

Quick breads don’t need to be proofed or kneaded like yeast breads, so many people find them to be less intimidating to make. They can go from the mixing bowl to the baking pan to the oven. One of the biggest advantages of quick breads, beside not having to fuss with temperamental yeast, is that they doesn’t require any special tools or challenging techniques. All you need to know are a few baking basics to bake up a successful loaf. So if you're new to baking, quick breads are a great way to start.
